
Colorado's First Metropolitan City Becomes a Second Amendment Sanctuary
Commerce City became the first metropolitan city in Colorado to vote and declare its intention to not enforce Colorado's new red flag law, joining exactly three-quarters of the state's counties and several towns who have already chosen to do so. Numerous gun rights advocates were on hand to speak up about the importance of keeping their families safe from those who would abuse the law.

Phillips County Sheriff Thomas Elliott had previously stated that he would not take part in confiscating firearms from citizens if ordered to under HB1177, soon to be presumably signed by Governor Jared Polis. At their meeting last Friday, the Phillips County Board of Commissioners agreed and announced their intention to back the sheriff's decision.

On Monday, the town of Monument in El Paso County, Colorado declared itself a "Second Amendment Preservation Town" after the Trustees voted unanimously that House Bill 19-1177 infringes upon the inalienable rights of the citizens by allowing the seizure of guns from people whom a judge declares to be a risk to themselves or others.

Colorado Becomes the Next Front With 2A Sanctuary Counties
Colorado's rural counties are declaring one by one to refuse to uphold and enforce red flag laws, as well as any other new law coming from the state legislature that defies the US Constitution. The bill in question is HB19-1177, a “Red Flag” bill otherwise known as the Emergency Risk Protection Orders (ERPO) bill. More than half the state's counties have rebelled against it.
