North Carolina's House of Representatives Democrat member Judge Marcia Morey proposed a new Red Flag law to give North Carolina judges the authority to remove guns from people who’ve exhibited “threatening, erratic or dangerous behavior" several weeks ago.

On Tuesday afternoon, however, House Speaker Tim Moore, a Republican from Cleveland County, sent the bill to the rules committee, where lawmakers say, "bills go to die."

While gun rights in the Tar Heel state may have ducked a shot (pun intended) yesterday, Second Amendment supporters need to keep up the fight. Senator Floyd McKissick, a Durham Democrat, said that some of the state senators planned to introduce a proposal Wednesday that is similar to the one that was just defeated.
